Athletes have great season

25 Mar, 2009 01:00 AM
Yanchep Little Athletics have once again had a very successful year.

This year saw the largest number of athletes registered with the club since beginning in 2003. Club president, Julie Boase, who will be leaving the club at the end of this season, has helped many kids in the Yanchep and Two Rocks area develop into fine young athletes over the years.

Her dedication and hard work has definitely paid off this year.

A number of athletes from the Yanchep club were selected to compete at state level.

Chloe Parker in the U8's winning a silver medal in 70 metres and Bronze in 200 metres.

Many of the athletes made the finals setting personal best times.

Sheree Boase, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Courtney Parker, Jazmine and Amy Kempa and Jayah and Kurtis Mathews qualified to represent the state at Perry Lakes stadium last weekend.
