On Tuesday, 25th August, the Sun City Country Club ladies held the Mareena Purslowe Open Day. Eighty-two ladies from Yanchep Park, Joondalup, Wanneroo, Lake Karrinyup, Seaview, Collier Pines, Lakelands, WA Club, Hartfield, Hamersley, Yaringa and Sun City enjoyed absolutely perfect golf conditions for the tournament.
The winner for the day was Linda Johnson from Collier Pines with 38 points. Second place went to Kathy Chant from Lakelands with 36 points and third place went to Irene Street from Wanneroo with 35 points.
The longest drives were by Sheryl Howe from Wanneroo in A division, Gae Gaffney from Lakelands in B division and Liz McFarlane also from Wanneroo in C division.
Nearest the pins went to Kathy Chant from Lakelands on the 3rd, Whitney Hillier from Joondalup on the 8th, Margot Parkes from Seaview on the 13th and Penny Haynes from Sun City on the 17th.
