Ladies darts has great weekend

17 Jun, 2009 02:00 AM
Gingin Ladies Darts Club, the Country Kruzer's held their second fundraising darts function weekend on the 23rd / 24th May.

Eight teams each comprising of six ladies enjoyed a wonderful weekend of darts, socialising and fundraising as well as enjoying the home cooked delights the fundraising committee supplied.

Winners of the fundraiser were: The Coastal Chicks, with the home team, Country Kruzers being runner's up. As always one team has to finish last, this honour went to the Moora Comets.

Over the two days a total of $2,260.00 was raised. Proceeds from the weekend were split between the Gingin Bush Fire Brigade and Gingin Chittering St Johns Ambulance.

Gingin deputy chief bushfire control officer, Murray Hyne, said that the money would be going towards new communication equipment.

St John president, Sally Gifford, said their money would be put towards new stretchers for the ambulance.

Although I have never met Corrin Culverwell it appears she has been an upstanding member of Country Kruzers.

It's always good when members of a small community stick together to help others.

I would just like to take this time to wish her, John and Tash the best in their future together.

Kind Regards,

Leonie
