Yanchep little athletics having successful year

18 Nov, 2009 01:00 AM
The 2009/10 Yanchep Little Athletic season has got off to a great start. Numerous club and district records have been broken by a number of local junior athletes. Personal best times are being achieved every week by all the local athletes.

This year Yanchep Little Athletics has 44 registered competitors with 20 of the children being under nine years of age.

It’s not too late for any local children wishing to get involved with the local little athletics. Just come down to a training session at Oldham Reserve in Yanchep on Tuesday or Thursday between 4.30pm and 6.00pm.

Local athletes train twice a week and compete against other clubs at Ridgewood every Saturday. They also have the opportunity to compete at the new WA Athletics Stadium at Floreat Park.

The Yanchep Little Athletics Club has produced some very talented athletes that have gone on to represent the state in many events. With the young talent at Yanchep the club management expect more local athletes will achieve national recognition.
