WA’s best historic racing cars at Barbagallo, this weekend

27 Jul, 2010 09:13 AM
This Sunday, 1st August, will see the return of some of WA’s best historic racing cars at Barbagallo Wanneroo.

The Clem Dwyer event is WA’s largest historic competition event and is a great family day out.

See the historic V8 touring cars with the likes of Ron Moller in his Chevrolet Camaro do battle with Jeff Stenton in his XY GT Falcon and the Monaros of Leigh Turner and Kevin Organ as well as Frank Viskovich in the ever reliable Mustang. Not to mention the other battles with Ford Capris, Holden Toranas, GT Cortinas and the EH Holdens and many more!

The open wheeler brigade is well catered for with Formula Classic. A good field of entries is expected, including several Australian Formula 2 cars, a Tiga Formula Atlantic and the fearsome V8 powered Lola T 800 of Russell Sewell.

Also not to be missed is the Historic Front Engine Racing cars. This grouping represents cars from as far back as the 1930’s. The noise and driving style from these cars is exciting to witness.

The Clem Dwyer meeting is a perfect day out for the whole family. Bring a picnic and set yourself up on the lawn to watch some great racing.

Barbagallo Raceway, Wanneroo is located on Wattle Ave, off old Yanchep Road, Neerabup.

Entry is just $5 per person, children under 14 free.

Qualifying begins at 8:30am with the first race starting at 10:30am.
