The Yanchep Sports Club’s mini bus was stolen from the club premises at the corner of Yanchep Beach Road and Marmion Avenue on the night of Monday, 11th January.
The theft was noticed the next day due to broken rear light glass on the ground and a door lock which had been torn from the driver’s door.
On Thursday, 21st January, the burnt out bus was found by workers on cleared open land at the rear of the Jindowie Estate, Yanchep.
The offenders set fire to the bus, completely destroying it.
This is a great loss to the Yanchep Sports Club and community as it was used by the Yanchep Sports Club, Yanchep Bowls Club, Yanchep Redhawks and other community based sporting groups. The bus was also used as a backup when the community bus was unavailable.
If anyone has any information regarding the theft and arson of the sports club’s bus contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Two Rocks Police on 9561 2322.
