Fifteen year old, Yanchep District High School Year 9 student, Jamie Gugiatti, made 2011 a milestone in her life.
Included in Jamie’s 2011 achievements are the YDHS Year 9 Academic Award (Dux of Year 9); top five per cent in Western Australia for science studies; top ten per cent in Western Australia for society and environment studies; and City of Wanneroo Student Scholarship award.
During the year Jamie also choreographed, co-ordinated, designed costumes and sets for the YDHS Rock Eisteddfod Challenge, which involved over 100 students.
Jamie was awarded the 2011 WA Rock Eisteddfod Challenge Award of Excellence for student achievement. Only one award was presented in Western Australia.
Outside of school Jamie was coach of the Yanchep District Junior Football Club Auskick program and awarded Junior Club Person of the Year.
Jamie will be attending an AFL coaching program in early 2012, so she can help the footballers learn more skills.
If all that is not enough, Jamie enjoys dancing as a hobby. The Sun City News understands Jamie is an excellent dancer and she has professional potential.
Like all teenagers, Jamie like to have some money to buy clothing, jewellery, etc - Jamie works part time at the Yanchep Inn helping out at functions and in the restaurant.
Jamie is looking forward to returning to Yanchep DHS, this year to complete Year 10, then go to Mindarie Senior College and university to study forensic toxicology, which involves completing two university degrees.
Jamie’s mother, Tammy said: “I’m so proud of Jamie, her achievements and her approach to life.”
There is no doubt Jamie has a brilliant career ahead of her and is a wonderful ambassador for a positive life.
