The redevelopment and construction of extensions and refurbishment of the Guilderton Country Club are nearing completion.
In December 2007, the Shire of Gingin first considered a request for the redevelopment of the Guilderton facilities.
Originally the council budgeted $650,000 for the works required and on 16th July, 2007, a joint meeting of the Guilderton Community Association and the Guilderton Country Club was held to discuss the project.
At the meeting, Mrs Rouse proposed that the Guilderton Country Club and Guilderton Community Association support the original co-location development proposal involving the demolition of the Guilderton Hall and toilets and the subsequent redevelopment of the Guilderton Country Club in a manner which incorporates new toilets and hall facilities. The proposal was passed unanimously.
Problems then arose with a blowout in the cost and eventually the council established the financing of the redevelopment to a maximum of $850,000 with the project being managed by a registered builder.
The premises are now nearing completion and the official opening is expected within a couple of months.
The Guilderton Country Club is now a very popular family orientated facility for its members and guests.
