28 Jan, 2010 10:59 AM
Last Tuesday’s Yanchep Two Rocks Recreation Association’s Australia Day Breakfast was the biggest ever.

Nearly 700 people enjoyed 45 dozen fried eggs, 100 litres of orange juice, 32 kilos of bacon, 32 kilos of baked beans, 33 loaves of bread and over 600 sausages all washed down with gallons of cups of tea and coffee, all for free.

After everyone enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, the 2010 Yanchep Two Rocks Recreation Association’s Australia Day Community Awards were presented by the City of Wanneroo deputy mayor, Tracey Roberts, and North Ward councillor, Laura Gray.

Frank Hamiliton was the recipient of the 2010 Yanchep Two Rocks Community person award.

Mr Hamilton, who was Two Rocks’ second resident worked for Alan Bond, then Tokyu Corporation. He has a long history of involvement with the local community.

Frank was on the steering committee for the Sun City Golf Club and a foundation member of the Yanchep Sports Club, to mention just two.

He has been involved with the City of Wanneroo’s Safer Citizens Advisory Committee since its inception and continues to be involved.

June Cornock and the late John Bird were awarded Australia Day medallions for their contribution to local community.

The Yanchep Country Women’s Association were presented with the Yanchep Two Rocks Community Group award.

This CWA group is an amazing institution providing a foundation for the community. The Yanchep CWA are an integral part of our local community.

The Yanchep Sun City Pty Ltd Youth Achievement Award was presented to Nicholas Brookes.

Nicholas recently attained a TEE result in the top ten percent of the state.

Nicholas combines his study with community interaction and volunteering, setting a fine example not only to youth, but for the entire Yanchep Two Rocks community.
