Last night, I was hit with an out-of-left-field question - Would I ever sell the Sun City News.
That got me thinking - Basically, I've spent most of my time passionately developing and growing the newspaper, both online and the physical newspaper that is home delivered across the region.
I always remember the movie - The Godfather, where they made you an offer you couldn't refuse.
Additionally, I've always had the philosophy that everything is for sale at the right price.
To think that the Sun City News started as a little monthly 'townie' newsletter in 1997, to be a full colour tabloid award winning newspaper is an achievement I am very proud of.
Over the past 15 years, there have been highs and lows, but in the main, it's a lot of fun.
Over the years, the Sun City News has put thousands of dollars back into the local community is various ways.
We've organised some interesting competitions and create a great event - The annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Hopefully, this event will grow over the upcoming years.
I think a true local newspaper is more that just being a newspaper, it part of the community, being involved in what the community does and keeping the community informed.
Saying all that, somehow for the past 15 years, I've had a great passion to make the newspaper work, succeed and be apart of the community.
I still have that passion to make it bigger, better and at some time in the near future weekly.
At the same time, I know that the Sun City News brand name and product is becoming highly valuable commodity and at some stage someone will come along and make an 'offer' that will need serious consideration.
In the mean time, I will be out there working week in, week out, to produce the best possible local community newspaper for everyone to enjoy.
Currently, we are developing a couple of new ideas - 'My Story' and 'Reader of the Week' that will start in the paper soon.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for any features you would like to see in the Sun City News, please drop me an email - terry@suncitynews.com.au
Oh, if you want to make a 'Mafia Offer' on the Sun City News, naturally I would consider it.
