 Vision for Yanchep

Vision for Yanchep

If I had the opportunity to create my vision for Yanchep, I would like to see several unique tourist attractions created in the district.

The rebirth of a new 'Atlantis Marine Park' would be the most popular attraction for the region and the state.

The original marine park was one of the nation's top tourist attractions, and King Neptune, one of the last relics from the marine park still attracting visitors.

The second proposal I would like to see in the Yanchep region would be a Dubai style casino resort.

Targeting the top end of the tourism market, you are attracting money to the region, providing plenty of local employment and the coastal tourist node would be a major feature with a massive marina.

My final suggestion would be an 'Environmental Disneyland' attached to the Yanchep National Park.

This would be another major local attraction that would put Yanchep on the map.

You may think my ideas are ludicrous, but if the three attractions were set up, every other necessity would fall into place. There would be all forms of public transport - railway, ferry and bus connecting the rest of Perth to the Yanchep region.

There would also be a massive boost to local employment.

These type of businesses attract countless secondary and ancillary businesses to a region. Local employment would thrive.

With all these attractions we'd have a vast array of affordable housing, hospitals, schools, universities and recreational parks for every breed of sport.

Do you think I'm wrong?

What is your vision?

I look forward to your viewpoint!

Fantastic view, Terry.

This region has it all, except development, which could attract so much tourism and amenities for the people who have settled here, and love it.

Why not bring something like Sea World up here and a few fantastic hotel complexes, without destroying the natural picture.

Looks like we are decades behind here, though there is no better place on earth.

Why can't we just leave things as they are?

Why does everything have to become so commercialised?

There isnt anywhere remotely close to suburbia that is like this.

A natural, calm place with uncrowded beaches and a 'country' feel about it.

To find such places we are having to move further and further away but the developers keep knocking on our doorstep.

Think about it.
