Have you ever have someone, or a business, promise you that a certain action would be completed by a certain date?
Are you sick and tired of people saying: "No Worries, mate, it be alright?"
And it never happens!!
Over the past 48 hours I've had two very different experiences of this type of antic.
Firstly, I have been hassled by an individual about a particular clause they wanted added to an insurance policy.
Legally it not possible, according to the insurance companies.
I ended up in court over the issue, only to have the case thrown out and a small victory for commonsense.
What peeves me off, the amount of time wasted over this issue - some 100 hours plus.
I lost count of the number of times I was promised - "It'll be alright mate, we won't end up in court."
We did, fortunately I have the claim dismissed.
The second issue relates to a business associate, who owes me a small amount of money.
Promises, promises, promises about paying the debt.
After 12 months and many, many more promises, I lodged a successful legal action.
The matter even went as far as a 'seizure and sale' court action.
This ever promising business associate, then decided to fight the legal system, promising more and more to the courts until they eventually got sick and tired of his promises.
It now appears this business associate will be declared bankrupt and ASIC will investigate his business dealings.
Well ASIC won't take to lightly to his promises, promises and more promises.
Have you ever had any similar dealings?
Drop me a line.
