 Dirty politics behind Yanchep Boardwalk

Dirty politics behind Yanchep Boardwalk

As a person who has attended many Local Government council meetings for over ten years, I've seen some very dirty political stunts.

Individuals and some community groups get used without even realising it.

The political antics behind the Yanchep Boardwalk are interesting.

Last Tuesday night's City of Wanneroo council meeting saw the council decide to remove the Yanchep Boardwalk structure.

Within 24 hours, local state politicians and/or their staff have been sniping and griping about the success of the removal of the boardwalk.

I wrote an article several months ago, expressing concerns about local community groups being political involved.

I was chastised for my comments.

Well, this morning, I anonymously received a copy of correspondence between the secretary of the Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association, Member for Mindarie, John Quigley and Peter Ramshaw, Research and Media Officer for Michael Mischin MLC.

What an interesting read.

Talk about stroking egos.

There were hints that the City of Wanneroo was not going to follow through with removal of the boardwalk.

The original email that started this chain of emails, is addressed to 'tryra member' but somehow ended up in at least three politicians hands.

Then the bitching has started about who did what and who should be praised for their efforts and who should be ignored or forgotten.

My interpretation of it is 'political back slapping.'

Then one politician get the hump because he was left off the 'thanks mate' list, and then another politician start 'takin' the piss out of each other.'

What a joke!

I thought politicians got elected to serve the community, regardless of colour, creed or political thoughts.

Guess what, our current politicians are stooges for their political parties.

Party politics is alive and well, on both sides of the fence.

What's happened to the real community-minded politicians?

The politician who lives in his community, works for his community, and isn't looking for that big pat on the back.

What do you think?

I welcome your comments, but because this is a political article, names will be published with any comments provided.

Can't make head or tail of what you have written.

You seem to be saying that someone has been saying or writing something that you don't approve of, but it isn't clear from what you wrote what this is.
