 Crime rate a shocker

Crime rate a shocker

A day never passes without hearing from a local resident complaining about the local crime, hooning, vandalism or some more graffiti. All to often, these same residents blame Marmion Ave for the cause of the problem.

Well the facts are:

1. YES, there is an increase in local crime.

2. YES, most of the local crime, hooning and graffiti is caused by local braindead idiots.

3. YES, the local community is too lazy to do amnything about it. Most residents can't even be bothered to report these crimes to the police.

4. YES, its a fact it will get worse until more residents decide to take responsibility and report the crime and demand action.

5. YES, there are more police stationed at the Two Rocks police station than ever before.

So why is the local crime rate increasing?

How many local parents know where their teenage children are after dark?

It's very easy to blame everyone else, but parents of teenagers have a responsibility to care and be aware of what their children are getting up too.

If I had my way, young kids roaming the streets after dark should be taken into care custody and the parents contacted and made to pay the costs incurred for looking after their children.

Most times parents don't have a clue where their children are until the police knock of the front door and inform the upset parents that their darling child has been terrorising the community or causing senseless damage.

If parents aren't going to be responsible, then they should be prepared to pick up the tab for the cost to repair the damage their darling child has caused.

Sadly, I don't think any politician has the balls to support the legislation to enforce parents to be responsible or pay.

What do you think?
