Over the next two weeks both the federal and state government will be handing down their 2009/10 budgets on top of the other recent handouts.
In the long run, this only gets us all further in debt and I wonder whether recent actions are the solution.
Debt is debt and remains a debt until is is fully paid.
So with the federal and state governments running up huge debts, eveeryone is burdened with tighter financial budgets and constraints.
In times of financial crisis I always believe 'no debt' is the best position, and if you have any debts, pay them off as quickly as possible.
But our governments, both state and federal, are plunging the nation deeper and deeper into debt.
I understand the state government treasurer, Trog Buswell, is borrowing millions so the state can retain its triple A rating.
I cannot see the logic.
It will be interesting to see what our local councils do about debt management.
Both the City of Wanneroo and Shire of Gingin have a variety of loans and debts.
Should any government be plunging the country further into debt?
